CDL Class A, is it Right For You?

What is Your Path With a Class A CDL?

This class allows you to operate combination vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 26,001 pounds or more, provided the towed vehicle has a GVWR of 10,001 pounds or more. It covers tractor-trailers, semi-trucks, and other large combination vehicles.

Common endorsements for Class A CDL include:

    • T (Double/Triple Trailers): Authorizes the operation of double and triple trailer combinations.
    • P (Passenger): Allows you to transport passengers in a commercial vehicle.
    • N (Tank Vehicle): Permits the operation of vehicles that transport liquids or gases in tanks.
    • H (Hazardous Materials): Required for transporting hazardous materials.

Class B CDL:

This class allows you to operate single vehicles with a GVWR of 26,001 pounds or more. It covers buses, delivery trucks, and other single vehicles.

Common endorsements for Class B CDL include:

    • P (Passenger): Allows you to transport passengers.
